Scientists at the University of Bath are developing a sustainable alternative to palm oil, using a type of yeast that can consume almost anything. Professor Chris Chuck is leading the team that could ultimately satisfy the global demand for palm oil, which is in about 1/2 of all products on supermarket shelves and a major cause of deforestation in the Tropics.
